Our spiritual growth manifests through practice—through intentional, embodied, and relational devotion to what life holds in peace. We find this within ourselves and across the interconnected fields of nature, creativity, and community. Sunstory celebrates life, relationships, and the individual’s experience as creatively charted and ever-expanding. Through guided contemplative practice programs, we nourish sangha and uphold a shared commitment to paying attention to our highest frequency of positive intention. This direction supports both personal transformation and the collective flourishing of the world we are continually becoming. Here, we gather to meditate, reflect, learn, and inquire. We nurture the strength and peace of presence, toward what matters most for one, and for all.

Our practice of peace is rooted in the Brahmaviharas—cyclical contemplative concentrations that expand and sustain awakened relationship with self, others, and the world. Through dedicated and recurring practice, we meditate upon and enact Joy, Loving-Kindness, Compassion, and Equanimity as living ethical orientations. These disciplines are expressed and received through daily practice, communal reflection, and conscious engagement with the material and mental environments we inhabit. In this way, peace becomes relational, participatory, and alive.

 

Our devotion is to nurture world peace through continual practice, each day unveiling insight through the many perceptual landscapes of experience in which we live, love, teach, create, and lead.

Creative Consciousness

 

We define creative consciousness as the awareness that one’s life is both empowered and responsive. Our lives are shaped through perception, interpretation, expression, and relationship with the elements, stories, and communities that guide and accompany us. This consciousness awakens as we attune to our capacity for love, given and received. In this we recognize that each life is wholly distinct, inimitable, and divinely endowed. This light, imbued in us, marks our continual rising and setting across time and season, revealing our belonging within a shared and sacred whole. 

 

Sunstory is the story of all.

 

The sun is an unbroken promise to illuminate the Earth’s whole story through renewal, rhythm, and return. It is a fractional particle of eternal light, one among countless stars, yet it remains steadfast and ignited.  The sun reminds us of hope, of our shared narrative, and of our ultimate unification with the creative and ethical dimensions of consciousness itself. In its presence, we are invited to remember our responsibility, our participation, and our capacity to live in devotion to peace.
